  1. I would like to make some edits to Game Details panel but I am having a hard time editing the theme because I have no experience. I basically would like to increase the video size. remove the platform and date above the video and include a few details below the video. I made a very crude edit to show what I want. Is it possible? Can anyone point me to how can I do it? Thank you!
  2. Hey all, Apologies if this has been asked before, but I am trying to determine the best method to upgrade to an entirely new better PC for my LaunchBox build WHILE keeping my existing PC still intact also running LaunchBox. My existing PC has a 500 gb SSD (C: drive) that is just program files and a 12 tb internal HDD (D: Drive) that is entirely dedicated to my Launchbox build. I want to somehow clone all of my LaunchBox build to a new PC's new HDD drive. The catch is not the majority of my LaunchBox games/roms and emulators are not in the LaunchBox folder itself, just in other folders on the same drive. A couple reasons I want to clone the drives instead of just stick them in the new PC: 1. I want to keep my existing 12 tb with my existing PC as a backup of my LaunchBox stuff. 2. Since I'm running out of room for my build, I am planning to have a much bigger hard drive in my new PC (likely 20-24 tbs). Could anyone advise me on the best way to do this without messing up directories or running into any LaunchBox and/or operating system issues?
  3. Hey there! I wanna know if there is some way to make that when you select a game in BigBox it automaticly shows the additional apps. Something like that option that automaticly opens the game, you know?
  4. Hey, so I've been having a lot of lag using Discovery in Bigbox. It freezes for over 10-20 seconds at a time, just from scrolling down. Scrolling up is laggy, but since rendered it does ok. I have suggestions limited to within my library, consisting of <200 games, mostly wii games. Any suggestions welcome, Thanks 3070 laptop, 16gb ram
  5. Hi, bit of a weird question but essentially my pre-built arcade machine has quite a large second monitor for a marquee (2560x1080) and the way it was built actually has a small amount of that screen covered up at the top to where it is not visible (a little less than an inch from what I can tell). When I use marquees in BigBox (as well as LaunchBox using the amazing thirdscreen plugin), it attempts to use the entire screen space of the marquee to display the image, meaning that usually the top of the image is cut out of view. I was wondering if there was a way to change the marquee settings in BigBox/LaunchBox to be able to not use that top inch of the screen in displaying the image. I know its not a big deal and I've left it as is for a few years but the more marquees I make the more it bothers me. If its any help, I tried setting a custom resolution in Windows and found that setting the display to 2560x950 pretty much perfectly adjusted the top of the screen. Though of course this is not a permanent solution because it also cuts off space on the bottom of the screen, which I do not need as I can see the full bottom of the display.
  6. Hello guys, A few days ago, I remembered a game from when I was a child. It's an Adobe Flash game called "Final Fortress" My question is: Does anyone know where I can find this game?? and if it's possible to add and play it in LaunchBox? Here's a YouTube video so you can see the game I'm talking about. Thanks you all <3
  7. I was wondering if it is possible to make my (F:) external 4TB SSD 100% portable? I notice that some Emulators/PC games rely on C:/Documents and C:/Appdata/Roaming, even though I choose my external, when installing. I hear that if you create a .txt called "portable" inside the emulator folders, that it should do the trick? Please let me know if you need some pictures or if you need to know specifically, which emulator/pc game. Thanks! Dee
  8. I keep running into an error whenever I try to remove an image for a game or a playlist directly in LaunchBox. I’ve already tried reinstalling LaunchBox, but the issue persists. I confirmed I don’t have another instance of LaunchBox running. This problem didn’t exist before—I used to be able to remove images without any issues. I think it may have started after a previous crash when images were in the middle of downloading during a game import (though I don’t remember exactly what the crash was). I’ve noticed the error seems to happen specifically when I’m trying to remove an image that is currently being displayed in the editor (e.g., the logo of the game I’m editing or the fanart of the playlist I’m editing). Error Message: Could not delete file "C:\Games\Launchbox\Images\Playlists\Darksiders\Fanart\Darksiders.png": The process cannot access the file 'C:\Games\Launchbox\Images\Playlists\Darksiders\Fanart\Darksiders.png' because it is being used by another process. Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Could someone do a NEW YouTube tutorial for installing Launchbox, and then RetroArch (and other gaming installs) on a Nvidia ShieldTV please? I ask because right now the tutorials I’ve search are different from the interface I’m using forcing me into an impasse because I don’t know how to install RetroArch because the steps on the tutorials are different from what actually see and therefore what I can actually do.
  10. Can anyone tell me what's going on here? I installed Unified Redux, Imported 3 games into the Arcade wheel and when I launch BB, It goes to this. I can hear a wheel when I arrow up and down but only see anything when I hit enter and go into the Arcade wheel... I tried this on 2 PCs and same thing. Is this normal? Am I missing something? Thanks!!
  11. Hey, I was wondering how I would edit a theme somebody else has made? I'm using the slipstream theme but would like to see the box art and disc/cart next to each other when selecting a game rather than this static screenshot on the right. If anyone could point me in the direction of learning how to to that that would be great.
  12. I know this is something oddly specific, but I wanna know if it's possible to execute a plugin (like mad oanda's soundtrack player) or stuff like view the game's manual or images instead of oppening the game. Is this even possible?
  13. TL:DR: Looking for button mapping for 4 player arcade (8 button player 1-2, 4 button player 3-4) for Launchbox/BigBox and emulators. Thanks! I'm a total noob (but pretty decent with technology) and having a hard time. I built a 4 player cab (player 1 & 2 with 8 buttons and player 3 & 4 with 4 buttons, Player 1-4 button and 3 admin buttons). Does anyone have a guide or help me on setting up the button mapping for RetroArch, Mame, PCSX2, PPSSPP, Dolphin, RPCS3, XEMU, and BigBox/Launchbox??? RetroArch seems to cause me the biggest headache. It seems that every game and every platform has different button mapping. Is there a setting I am missing or an easier way than mapping every platform (and game thats different)? Is there a way to get my joysticks to be recognized in BigBox/LaunchBox? I've tried mapping controller mapping and keyboard mapping and it registers NO movement of the joystick, even though it works EVERYWHERE ELSE. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. If you have read this far, I appreciate it!!!
  14. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me how to get my videos to display in 16:9 like the photo on the bottom for unified redux theme mine is the one the top with square 4:3 video snaps (i know i have to edit the border image in theme as well later) just unsure on how to get the video to play without the black bars, I only want to have 16:9 playback for select platforms (ps3, switch, et) I was having trouble finding a solution in the forums and I went to the discord and was recommended to switch to Unified Refried with a Queso mod for this, however I'm just trying my luck here to see if anyone has a solution as I really like the look of redux and am unfamiliar mods.
  15. Over the last few days my games in BigBox have EXTREME input delay. From what I’ve tested it’s only with Mame and Retroarch platforms. However it is only input delay. The games are running at full speed, music and all, and looking at my task manager everything seems normal. If I boot up the arcade versions of Ms. PAC-Man or Street Fighter 3 with Mame, say I go left, then right, then left. The inputs will work for the first few. Then I’ll either get inputs receiving a whole 10+ seconds after inputting them or they won’t input at all. Same with NES or Atari Jaguar or any other system I’ve tested that uses RetroArch. Also, oddly the same with SEGA Naomi at well, which is using Demul. Regardless of if I use an Xbox controller or arcade buttons/keyboard controls on these emulators I get extreme input delay, even in Mame and Retroarch’s settings. Here is all I’ve troubleshooted so far: It’s not a controller problem since it’s happening with multiple controllers. Its not a hardware problem that I know of because everything looks normal with no spikes in task manager It ONLY happens when booting these emulators through BIG Box. Launchbox works perfectly fine like normal, booting the emulators straight through RocketLauncher works fine, and the emulators on their own work perfectly fine. The BIG Box menu UI does NOT slow down. It’s only the games themselves and their emulator’s menus that do. Once I back out of the game everything’s fine again. I do not think it is some weird settings change either considering I restored a backup of when BigBox was working (to my knowledge) and the issue persists. I could be wrong on this though as I have not used BigBox as much recently before this. It is also not the work of some specific BigBox theme. No matter what themes I use or how many times I refresh image caches and what-not the issue persists. any ideas?? Help would be much appreciated.
  16. each time that i press the a button on any gamecube and ps1 game it opens the ingame menu (ex: it opens the menu of thug2 when play it) wich makes the game unplayable
  17. Hi everyone, I'm trying to put the ps2 core into launchbox through retroarch, but even though I already have its core installed correctly in retroarch, it doesn't recognize it when adding the emulator. Is there any way to enter it? My goal is to only use Retroarch via Steam with all emulators, this is possible?
  18. It keeps sending me to the BIOS screen with "Drive Empty" messages! I've tried everything I can think of, running the .cue files, the other files, all of it! What the heck do I do?!
  19. So I have a Hyperspin setup from years ago that honestly never worked right where I was using it frequently. My buddy has suggested launchbox and bigbox for me and I’m trying to see the best way to approach my installation of everything. Basically I cut my roms out of my Hyperspin setup and am trying to use those root folders as my paths for launchbox. Problem is they’re older, the way they are separated is how Hyperspin had them etc. I basically paid for the roms I have and don’t want to lose them but trying to have a complete and working system with like everything that I have (2 drives close to 10tb all together). At this point I have imported all games from the old hyperspin folders keeping them in their original paths. The problem now is some of the folders I've tried to import don't show up or recognize in Launchbox, I have made a list of what the folders were named. If anyone can recommend how to import these that would be helpful. The second part of my problem is metadata appropriately attaching for the games I've imported. I have a ton of emulators/roms for various computers, arcades, and consoles. Trying to figure out the best way to fix and audit these as well I have 767 GB left currently on one drive and 24 Kb left on the other. The folders from hyperspin I cannot find what emulator/system they run with are: (Any help would be much appreciated) For the record I have both Launchbox and Bigbox so if there is extra tools on Bigbox I do have it if that makes things easier. Some obscure systems have garbled titles and others seem to be like prototypes or games that will not pull any photos or assets etc. Basically trying to figure out the best way to utilize everything and fix it so it is a clean system with all of the games I have while pulling all photos and assets needed for everything to display nicely. Kind of lost at what I should do next.
  20. I'm having trouble setting up BizHawk as my emulator. Every time I set it up, it opens BizHawk but it doesn't open the ROM, this is pretty annoying as I'm trying to be more organized with my computer.
  21. I don't know if this is the right place, but I need some suggestions. I have my platforms separated in categories (arcades, computers...), so with my modern windows games (from xp to 11) I don't know if I should have some things like steam, mugen, pygame, scratch, rpg maker or powerpoint games (yes, I have one of those) as my own platforms in computers or inside another category I have for hacks, mods or ports (like GZDOOM, SonicRetro or Libretro ports). I know this is very specific but I want to see how others organize their games in a sensible way.
  22. I’m trying to achieve a 100% console experience without ever having to see windows. I’ve almost got it but idk how to change audio output (speakers/headphones) and add Bluetooth devices without exiting big box. Is this possible?
  23. I want launchbox to launch retroarch windowed. Retroarch is setup for windowed and when I open it by itself it is in windowed mode, but when I launch a game through launchbox it goes straight to fullscreen. I have checked the emulator command line parameters and there is nothing telling it to go to fullscreen. I have even tried adding -windowed and -sw and neither one worked. I wouldn't really care, but my monitor seems to have issues with emulators and fullscreen mode. Every so often the monitor will just go black for 5 - 10 seconds like its resetting or something, and also when closing out of a game for whatever reason everything is dimmed in windows and I have to restart to make it look normal again. None of this happens when I just use retroarch in windowed mode. Any help would be appreciated. I am running Windows 11 btw if that makes any difference.
  24. Hello, When I change Discovery Center to the Big Box theme using a controller hotkey, the music from my video snap continues to play, and mix with my other videos on the Big Box theme, Is there a way to change that on the options or it is a bug or something else? The sound turns very chaotic.
  25. Okay. Going into details. Warning: I am a noob, when it comes to games and emulators. I managed to get the N64 (using N64Plus FZ), Amiga, and C64 (both using RetroArch) I use all on my Google TV box (MECOOL KM7) and they work perfectly. But, when I try duckstation for PS1 games and MD.emu for GBA neither work through launchbox. MD.emu seems too try to load, but goes black. When I try to use Duckstation, I get an error saying "Failed to load CD image 'Driver.chd': [13]: Permission denied" but everything works great on my cellphone. I test everything on my phone first before transferring to my Android Google TV box. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
