Finally got most things sorted out, decided to go Launchbox over RaspPi, have some computer parts on order and some hardware. Buttons wise, I went for a kit and the seller was nice and threw in an extra coin button. Kit was for 8-buttons per player but only using 6. So, plan is.... each player has the joystick, 6 buttons, a Player 1 or 2 button, and a coin button. I read that it was a good idea to have about 4-buttons for admin stuff, which is what I plan to do with the 4-buttons I have left over in the kit. Questions are 1) What do most people have the 4-buttons assigned to? EXIT I assume would be one of them. 2) Do I need any more buttons? Realized this morning, I totally forgot about a power-on button for the PC. Which is why I decided to post, see what people have setup on theirs, and if I forgot any more buttons.

TL:DR: Looking for button mapping for 4 player arcade (8 button player 1-2, 4 button player 3-4) for Launchbox/BigBox and emulators. Thanks! I'm a total noob (but pretty decent with technology) and having a hard time. I built a 4 player cab (player 1 & 2 with 8 buttons and player 3 & 4 with 4 buttons, Player 1-4 button and 3 admin buttons). Does anyone have a guide or help me on setting up the button mapping for RetroArch, Mame, PCSX2, PPSSPP, Dolphin, RPCS3, XEMU, and BigBox/Launchbox??? RetroArch seems to cause me the biggest headache. It seems that every game and every platform has different button mapping. Is there a setting I am missing or an easier way than mapping every platform (and game thats different)? Is there a way to get my joysticks to be recognized in BigBox/LaunchBox? I've tried mapping controller mapping and keyboard mapping and it registers NO movement of the joystick, even though it works EVERYWHERE ELSE. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. If you have read this far, I appreciate it!!!

A while back I built my arcade cabinet, and due to the fact that I did not have enough inputs on the keyboard encoder that I am using, I designed the pause button with diodes so that it registers an UP and DOWN keypress at the same exact time (see: https://tigerheli.mameworld.info/encoder/pausekey.htm). Is there any way to make Launchbox/Bigbox recognize this input to activate the pause screen?

I have read this problem in other sites without a clear solution. I have 11.7 premium version installed on my Windows 10 last update, but the start button in any control (gamepad, joystick) exit any game in any emulator. I checked the mapped buttons and exit all the steam, origin etc, but it does not seem anything wrong with that. Please any clue? Regards, Santiago

Hi All im in the process of swapping hyperspin for Bigbox on my arcade cabinet. I have a 2 player (7 button) cab with player credit and start buttons for each along with an exit and pause buttons. it all comes down to personal preference, but, I was wondering what Ui shortcuts others have mapped to their control panels and how they layed them out.

I have always used a single configuration for all back-up CORE in my bartop, but only with regard to SEGA Genesis, I feel the need to change the button setting. With the change of backward versions, you have also changed how to remake the buttons (at least it looks like this) With version 1.5, what is the correct procedure for changing keyboard layout with Genesis Core (or anything else), then can you use it by booting everything from launchbox?

The problem is the following. If Big Box enable the volume control + and -, it works perfectly if we raise or lower the volume when we BigBox, But if we start a game, if we try to lower or increase the voume (I use a combo of buttons for volume as Select + B), the B button after adjusting the volume will work intermittently. Everything starts to work if we leave the game and then we start again.
