What are the Pacific Climate Warriors?
The Pacific Climate Warriors are part of the 350 Pacific Organisation, youth-led grassroots network working with communities to fight climate change from the Pacific Islands and diaspora.
350 Pacific works with organisers across 18 Pacific Island nations and diaspora communities in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States of America to highlight our island countries’ vulnerabilities to climate change while showcasing our strength and resilience of people. We work through existing networks and with a range of partner organisations who share in our vision for the Pacific and the planet. 350 Pacific has organised and facilitated workshops to educate and empower youth in the region, and through our many campaigns, have amplified the voices of frontline communities in the face of the climate crisis.
What it means to be part of the Organising Team?
The Organising team is made up of individuals who would like to help lead and organise events and initiatives of PCW QLD.
- This could range from helping create/drive our community events
- Creating social media content
- Coming up with new ideas for new events/initiatives
- Attending trainings/rallies organised by 350 Pacific and more.
Being part of the Organising team doesn't mean you have to be available 24/7 and attend all our events, it is very flexible to your own commitments and obligations.
What it means to be part of the Wider Team?
The Wider team is made up of individuals who don't have the capacity to organise and facilitate but would still like to be very much involved and included in updates for actions, trainings and campaigns for PCW QLD and the Pacific Climate Warriors as a whole.
