Conservation Victories Over the Years
Take a look at what we've accomplished together.

Preserving Wilderness
ForestWatch is proudly working to add wilderness areas throughout the Los Padres and Carrizo Plain.

Protecting Wildlife
ForestWatch works to enhance biological diversity on the Los Padres National Forest and surrounding public lands. We aim to reverse the trend of extinction at the local level by advocating for the protection of sensitive species and restoring their habitats in this biologically-rich region.

Improving Public Access
When some established trails intersect private property, trail users can be bombarded with “No Trespassing” signs, locked gates and/or unhappy landowners.

Connecting People With Nature
Our Outdoor Connections Program connects diverse communities in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties with the natural wonders of the Los Padres National Forest by removing barriers to access, providing educational resources, and fostering a new generation of conservation advocates who reflect the true demographics of our region.

Safeguarding Rivers
ForestWatch recognizes the importance of clean water to our communities, economy, and aquatic habitat.

Wildfire Preparedness
We advocate for reducing wildfire ignitions by promoting smarter development practices in fire-prone areas, focusing on prevention through community-based strategies.

Defending Public Lands
ForestWatch supports the elimination of commercial resource extraction that degrades public lands, and works to minimize environmental impacts from destructive land uses.

Preserving Sacred Sites
These are the ancestral lands of several indigenous Tribes including Chumash, Salinan, Esselen, Yokuts, Ohlone, Tataviam, and Tongva peoples. They are places of deep spiritual and cultural importance. ForestWatch works with our tribal partners and allies to protect these lands and amplify indigenous voices.

Land Acquisition
ForestWatch strategically acquires private inholdings within public lands to preserve ecological connectivity, protect natural resources from development threats like mining and logging, and ensure these vital wilderness areas remain wild for future generations.RetryClaude can make mistakes. Volunteer Stewardship
Volunteering is our way of giving something back to the places we love, while getting our hands dirty and directly improving wildlife habitat and recreation areas in our local backcountry.

Securing Our Climate
ForestWatch remains committed to protecting our world's forests for future generations, recognizing that forest conservation is essential for both climate stability and biodiversity preservation.
