At 100-year anniversary, Atlanta school unveils new ‘heart’ of campus Josh GreenMon, 02/09/2026 - 08:07One of Atlanta’s most esteemed K-12 schools has lifted the veil on transformative plans for its centennial birthday this year. To help mark its 100th anniversary in 2026, Buckhead’s The Lovett School recently unveiled details and renderings for what project leaders call “the new heart of campus,” Rita Anne Rollins Hall. The Cooper Carry-designed project will aim to bring students, faculty, alumni, and families together in fresh ways. It includes a larger campus green—with an additional acre of greenspace—performing arts venues, a new chapel and assembly space, makerspace and media studios, and commons areas for dining and learning at the private Buckhead campus spanning 100 acres on Paces Ferry Road. “The building is envisioned as a multipurpose hub where students can design, create, worship, perform, and gather—all under one roof,” project reps tell Urbanize Atlanta. The building is named in honor of Rita Anne Rollins, a former Lovett student who died in an accident in 1970 when she was a junior. Rollins, the eldest child of business magnate Randall and Peggy Rollins, was awarded a posthumous degree in 1972. A $30 million gift from the Rollins family—the largest in Lovett’s history, and one of the biggest an independent U.S. school has ever received, per officials—is supporting the hall’s development. IMPACT Development Management is on board to construct the new facilities, per project officials. Facade and a water feature in the works for The Lovett School’s Rita Anne Rollins Hall.
