Cyberdecks

If we’re being honest with ourselves, we can admit that most of the cyberdeck projects out there lack a true purpose. People create them because they’re fun to build and cool to see in action, not necessarily to use for any specific application in the real world. But Paul Lagier’s new cyberdeck is an exception, because he designed it for 3D printing.

Pseudonymous maker “PickentCode” has designed a compact, portable Raspberry Pi-powered cyberdeck designed for experimenting with electronics in the field — complete with integrated solderless breadboard: the CyberPlug.

I really think the world needs more cyberdecks. They’re cool portable computers, usually powered by slim yet capable hardware, packaged inside a case that makes you feel like some sort of hacker as you use it.
