DASD
(Direct Access Storage Device) Pronounced "daz-dee," a DASD is an earlier mainframe term for a magnetic disk drive. Today, a DASD can also be a solid state drive (SSD). The "direct access" means that any sector is addressable directly. See hard drive and SSD.Copyright © 1981-2025 by The Computer Language Company Inc. All Rights reserved.
