Edit Plus is a source editor and notepad designed for programmers. It integrates syntax highlighting, spell check, web browser integration, and other handy features for coders. It can handle multiple projects on different languages by using tabs and also has document templates for a quick start.
The program supports syntax highlighting and auto-completion for HTML, PHP, Java, C, C++, CSS, ASP, Perl, JavaScript and VBScript; but it's not limited only to these languages, for users can extend the support by adding custom syntax files.
As of version 3.1 many improvements have been done, but the key ones were performed over the FTP manager, project /document handling, and the interface.
On FTP, a cache directory content was added on the settings dialog box. The password is now sent after each interval, FTP progress can be canceled immediately, plus the upload is now stable.
Document administration section has new features too, like recent items list refreshes avoiding broken links, Latin alphabet spell checking was added, documents contain project name related to, the Find function has an option to exclude, a 'Delete Duplicate lines' options is available now, and more.
EditPlus 3.1 is a great replacement for Windows Notepad, since it offers its users great features for document edition, programmers get Web integration, project/document handling, cliptext, auto-completion, multiple programming language support, customizations and more.
