When working along-side heavy metals, it’s important to make sure that procedures are in place to minimise the risk of occupational cancers. Many heavy metals contain toxic chemicals such as mercury, arsenic and cadmium which can affect the nervous system and lead to certain cancers. Many foundry workers are often exposed to a multitude of harmful toxins such as benzene and formaldehyde – these are both known to cause lymphohematopoietic cancers. Furthermore, harmful chemicals found in heavy metals can actually lead to the development of skin cancer via absorption. Factories need to properly protect themselves and their workers to prevent the risk of developing certain cancers.
At De-Wipe, we understand the risks of occupational cancers in a number of industries. Our range of wipes are scientifically proven to effectively remove harmful toxins and chemicals from the skin, and are scientifically formulated with key ingredients to defend against harmful dioxins and pollutants that many foundry workers are exposed to. During trials conducted by Manchester Metropolitan University in 2019, De-Wipes were tested for efficacy in controlled laboratory tests. The ground-breaking study focused on the 8 most hazardous polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) including Benzo(a)pyrene. The results indicated that De-Wipe is capable of removing these toxic PAHs- including an amount greater than 91% of Benzo(a)pyrene after skin exposure.
Our wipes can be used on equipment and skin to effectively remove harmful chemicals from the workplace. Dermatologically tested, they are suitable for the use on the hands, face, ears and areas around the neck and throat.
De-Wipes come in a range of convenient packs, such as single individual wipes and multipacks containing 40 wipes (available in 30x20cm or larger 60x30cm). These multipacks are resealable to maintain their freshness and effectiveness and are small enough to become a part of your factory’s decontamination process.
To better protect your workers and yourself, the introduction a simple, cost effective, sustainable, environmentally friendly, and scientifically proven product range from De-Wipe as part of your decontamination process is certainly a step in the right direction. Let us help you protect your organisation, workers and their families from contaminants- ‘Don’t Take it Home’.
