Hello, fellow Toastmasters and welcome guests. As your Timer today, my role is to help our speakers stay within their allotted time.
I'll be using a colour-coded timing system that works like a traffic light:
GREEN means you've reached your minimum time — you're within the window, well done!
ORANGE means you've hit the closing midpoint — it's time to start wrapping up your thoughts.
RED means you've reached your maximum time — please conclude your speech.
If you continue past the red, the screen will flash as a gentle reminder to wrap up.
For today's prepared speeches, the timing is 5 to 7 minutes. For Table Topics, it's 1 to 2 minutes. And for evaluations, it's 2 to 3 minutes.
I'll display the timer where everyone can see it. Speakers — please keep an eye on the colours so you can deliver your best speech within the time. Good luck to everyone!
