About Michael Hein

Michael Hein has been covering entertainment, fandom news, and trending topics since 2016 on outlets including Rogues Portal, PopCulture.com, and ComicBook.com. He has provided live coverage of red carpet premieres, conventions, and up-fronts, and has interviewed major stars including Charles Dance, Patrick Stewart, and Chloe Sevigny. An avid fiction reader and writer, Michael has been diving deep into all the biggest book-to-screen adaptations of the last decade, from Game of Thrones to Foundation.

Industry Experience

Michael studied creative writing with acclaimed instructors and authors before completing a Bachelor's Degree in Literature. This background served him well in writing analysis and criticism, while he quickly learned the ropes of breaking news and interviews. Michael has covered live events throughout New York and New England, including New York Comic Con, Boston Fan Expo, and the red carpet premiere of Game of Thrones Season 8. Outside of journalism, Michael is also a cast member on the podcast Attempted Adventure — a TTRPG actual-play podcast that has run continuously since 2019.

Favorite Media

Michael is deeply obsessed with Game of Thrones, A Song of Ice and Fire, and everything that goes with it — the fan theories, the spinoffs, and the endless wait for a new book. A lore junkie at heart, he also loves the Dune saga, The Expanse, and The Murderbot Diariesamong many others. Michael's most anticipated upcoming adaptations are Neuromancer and Dungeon Crawler Carl. He also loves anime, sitcoms, action movies, and podcasts.
