CodePad is a text-editor / IDE with a different spin on the concept. Indeed-- the typical features are present: syntax highlighting, code-completion, and project management-- yet I use CodePad frequently for its certain unique, built-in functions-- useful to a new user, or a veteran of coding from a common IDE. So.... go ahead and TRY it. Add a few of your own tweaks (to the CodePad tools, for parsing DIFF with external apps, for example), and you just might find the special, unusual functionality you've sought after.
