I found CCleaner 6.39 through a simple search.
Type in Search Bar > ccleaner 6.39 download > Scroll down to SoftPortal (Download CCleaner 6.39.11548 for PC) > choose download from SoftPortal servers (EXE file). Don't download from "official site" as they only offer the new release 700. You could probably use Techspot or informer.com as well.
CCleaner, the free version, used to work just fine on Windows 11 22H2, but NOT Windows 11 24H2. I applied every possible solution at no avail. I submitted a technical support ticket with CCleaner in the past three weeks, but I didn't hear back from them. Any help is greatly appreciate it.
Andy Reed,
I have preferred the 6.39 over the 7.
After a successful download of 6.39 I needed to maintain the following regimen.
This PC > Local Disk (C > program files > CCleaner>
delete the following
CCupdate file and temp_ccupdate_700_pro
I found the files will reload but I do this to successfully run the old version. Otherwise the new install will begin for version 7.
I haven't figured out how to permanently stop the reload of the updater.
