Hello! I'm Candle! And, uh... I'll be taking a break for a while. Let me explain... 

Life was a little rough a couple of years ago. Lots of life stuff was going on and frankly, music was kind of the only thing keeping me going. Throughout it all, I (mostly) uploaded a song a month in an effort to grow and maybe have a chance at getting out of the hole I was so desperately trying to claw my way out of. 

Fast forward to now, and here we are. I have a part time teaching job that I love, I'm getting to start several projects that I've been wanting to for a while, and I have so many opportunities in front of me that are, quite literally, life changing. 

And it's all thanks to all of you! To the "FUNHOUSE" team, the "osu" team, EDMS, Ryuu, the GeoDash community, the weebs... without all of you, I wouldn't be so close to achieving what I've always wanted to do; make a living purely off of music XD

And that's why I need a break.

It happened really fast after "FUNHOUSE" but I got a lot of crazy opportunities flying at me, with a lot of them being, quite literally, life changing. Coupled with that, a project that I started about 6 months ago is finally ready to be released but I need to give it my full attention. 

Originally, I was going to call it quits here (especially after my channel got destroyed). I've kind of been building the plane while I'm flying it so to speak, and starting over from scratch just felt genuinely too daunting. Also, not for nothing, trying to maintain a song a month AND do big projects AND do commissions for years on end is exhausting XD. This isn't the first time I've wanted to quit in all honestly, but I'm now convinced that, no matter how hard I try, this project has to be a permanent fixture in my life.

So, here's my plan. I'm going to take a break. A real one. Nothing cooking in the background, save for 2 or 3 projects that I've had to pause due to not having the time, no backlog, nothing. This DOES NOT affect commissions although I will have to take them at a slower rate. Let me focus fully on the offers in front of me so that I can get to the next phase of my life. In the meantime, I want to rethink my content and what I want "Candle" to be, in addition to being an artist. I might slow down on releases, but it means you'll hopefully get more content in general. This includes more streams, including one I don't think y'all are gonna want to miss coming soon 

I genuinely couldn't tell you when I'd be back. My goal is by the end of the year but at the absolute latest, summer of next year I want to start releasing stuff again. I'm working on changing all of my handles to @candleaudio so if you see any new accounts with that tag, give it a follow if you can 

This journey has been rough I can't lie. What started as a throw away account to just upload stuff turned into a literal lifeline for me. I've made so many friends, got to be a part of so many amazing projects, and made music that little Candle would've been so amazed by! And it's all thanks to you! So, once again, from the absolute bottom of my heart and more than any of you could ever know.
