Bug Description
[Impact]
HP will offer new WNC WWAN OMAR-H R15 5G in coming new laptops which is powered by MEDIATEK with wwan/t7xx drivers. The WWAN module won't be detected if the driver not supported
[Fix]
Intel provides a patch which is included in linux-next to fix this issue
370e98728bda net: wwan: t7xx: add support for HP DRMR-H01
[Test]
1. Power on the new HP mWS G2 platform with WNC WWAN OMAR-H R15 5G module
2. Ensure that Network Manager has detected the WWAN module correctly
3. Ensure that WWAN connection can be estblished in Network
[Where problems could occur]
This patch only adds the PCI ID to the t7xx driver. Should be low risk of regression
