Not good.

Eddington starts slow and stays there for a while. The first half drags, weighed down by aimless scenes and atmosphere that promises more than it delivers. When the tone shift finally hits in the second half, things pick up, but by then, the fatigue has settled in.

It’s not that it’s badly made, it’s just too much. Too long, too meandering, and ultimately too familiar. For a film set in the surreal tension of pandemic-era America, it somehow doesn’t say anything new. The performances are strong, the direction ambitious, but the story? It’s ground we’ve already walked with better lighting and more existential dread. 2/5.
