Kyle Scharf’s review published on Letterboxd:
Try sprinkling a bit of Stranger Things with Friday The 13th (or The Burning if your tastes prefer) and a smidge of Invasion Of The Body Snatches in a kid friendly horror flick and you get Marshmallow. Sadly, the pluses of a mostly likable cast (including a very old Corbin Bernsen who now looks exactly like a mix of my parents neighbor Gord and current day Tully Blanchard) are dragged down by a nearly incomprehensible twist ending that takes too far too long to try and explain which nullifies the shock of it.

But it passes as a decent entry/gateway horror flick for kiddos, though it still remains a far cry from the GOAT, Monster Squad.
