I forget how visually stunning this is, one of the best visuals and cinematography of the whole decade with its VHS neon static styling.
What makes the film truly devastating is the underlying trans allegory and the way it explores repression, identity, and the fear of never becoming the person you were always meant to be.
first i would like to state i do not condone any of the horrible inhumane war crimes committed by the US soldiers during the Iraq War, and we should not be celebrating the so call “heroes” hollywood has tried to portray in these war propaganda films. especially in the credits of if these soldiers can tell the story they should be willing to show their faces and not cover it cowardly as they did.
