I was very interested in Grin. Just yesterday theymos announced to accept Grin as a means of payment. Before that, only Bitcoin could enjoy this honor. Even Ethereum, Monro, etc. did not have such treatment.
So as a response to the BTT Forum, will Grin plan to have a BTT Forum Bounty Campaign?

Bounty campaign? Why don't you grab a couple of GPU's and mine it? The mainnet went online 3 days ago. You didn't miss anything. Also the inflation rate will be so big for the first year, you'll be able to buy cheap coins as much as you want during that period.

Hello guys!
Its possible to mine this coin with 1070?
Sorry if this quastion was before:/
yes .
I just fired up my dormant Windows 10 dual 1070 rig. Mining on f2pool. Currently showing 6.207 6.315 graphs for last 15m hashrate...  wtf that means.
Now I gotta figure out this payout address thingy.... I guess I need a wallet. I hear there's no addresses though?
 Learning curve....
Mining using what software?

Excited about this project, a lot of haters on Twitter saying to avoid for 3 years  Cheesy Cheesy

We have just released a Step by Step Grin Mining guide here for Windows
https://www.coingecko.com/buzz/how-to-mine-grin

This is based on our experience mining it ourselves. We also face some setbacks in withdrawal. Not easy but possible, so far able to withdraw successfully from GrinMint.
As for the "no address" thing, we will do a guide soon to explain this and also pool withdrawals.  Cheesy

windows 7 and driver 417.35

only bminer can pull more than 5.x G/s which is limited to 3 gpus, at 4 gpus you'll have ~3 G/s per 1080ti

other miners sucks like GGM ~3 G/s and gminer will turn your 3 G/s to 1.5 G/s hehe

bminer works on sparkpool but sparkpool don't show worker stats..on grinmint bminer has a lot of rejects...and f2pool asks for your mobile number  Tongue ..hello? haha

Using Grin Gold Miner.
It shut down overnite though. Cards probably got too hot or something as I didnt tweak anything.
Still working on it....

either gringoldminer or mwgrinpool might be a scam. mining since the morning but my balance just stopped increasing. It did now.

Also moved to f2pool and bminer which gives me 3.5g/s while gringold was giving 2.5.

I am on w7 btw.

edit: grin-pool is back. not the other fellas

i'd also like to whine about the failover part of gringoldminer 2.7, which doesn't stay on the secondary pool nearly long enough before re-polling the first

I was just about to ask something related to this:

So, does a recipient necessarily need prior knowledge that they are about to receive some coins, or not? I'm guessing the receipt and processing of the sender's information can be automated so that people can receive payments offline. But if somebody is not expecting a payment, and has not set up such automation, does the transaction still get added to the Grin blockchain, and the payment sent to the recipient?

Thanks.

So, does a recipient necessarily need prior knowledge that they are about to receive some coins

Yes. Grin transactions always work in a multi-step process like this:
1. The sender runs grin wallet send -m file -d FILE.txt GRIN_AMOUNT, which creates the file FILE.txt.
2. The sender gives FILE.txt to the recipient.
3. The recipient runs grin wallet receive -i FILE.txt, which creates another file FILE.txt.response.
4. The recipient gives FILE.txt.response to the sender.
5. The sender runs grin wallet finalize -i FILE.txt.response, and the transaction is done.

There are also methods involving IP addresses, keybase.io, and a "grinbox address" service, but behind-the-scenes these methods do the same steps as above, where the sender and recipient need to cooperate in order to form the final transaction

Nice job.
No node or wallet for windows yet. Won't be long. (guessing maybe 2 weeks TM ?)
Either send direct to an exchange, which is risky.
Or wait for the windows softs and keep your grins on the pool till they integrate it, which is risky.

guys I've used a fake (nonexistent) email, how can I retrieve my coins from grinmint? I don't get how can you use a grinbox relay, I set grinbox.io:443 in settings but the transaction was refused, and how would it know to where it should send the file?

Apparently for now...
I just set up the payment thingie with Bitforex. Set up an account there, then you bind your UID.
No addresses. No clue how many coins I have credited so far. This is weird.
Time will tell if I did it right I guess....
I guess I did it right. My mining page updated.
Looks like it might be a little better than the Nicehash dust
my miners accumulated right before I turned them them off.... ahhh....who cares, right? I'm a hobby miner...lol
