Innovating Education in Africa (IEA)
AU flagship initiative identifying, promoting and scaling innovative solutions to education challenges. Supports innovators, accelerates digital transformation, and facilitates knowledge sharing between innovators and policymakers.
Continental Education Conference
High-level AU policy platform bringing together Member States, experts and partners to review progress on continental education frameworks, share best practices, and strengthen partnerships for education transformation.
Africa Skills Week
Flagship continental platform for skills development, TVET, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness. Convenes governments, industry and development partners to advance the Continental TVET Strategy.
AU Decade of Education and Skills Development (2025–2034)
Continental initiative mobilizing investment and reform in education and skills to unlock Africa's human capital potential, accelerating implementation of CESA 2026–2035 and the Continental TVET Strategy.
Pan-African Conference on Teacher Education (PACTED)
Flagship AU platform advancing teacher education and professional development. Promotes competency-based pedagogy, digital integration, and elevates the status of the teaching profession across all Member States.
Strategies
Strategy on Education for Health and Well-being of Young People
Integrates health, life skills, and comprehensive sexuality education into Africa's education systems. Aims to reduce barriers to learning linked to poor health, gender-based violence, early pregnancy and harmful practices.
Digital Education Strategy and Implementation Plan
Continental roadmap for leveraging digital technologies to transform education systems. Promotes AI in teaching, digital literacy, equitable access to learning technologies, and teacher capacity across Member States.
