Astah is a suite of professional modeling tools from Change Vision, Inc. designed to help teams design, visualize, and communicate software and systems clearly. It combines an approachable interface with robust modeling features, making it useful for architects, engineers, analysts, and educators.
Astah supports core UML diagrams—class, sequence, activity, state machine, use case, component, and deployment—as well as ER diagrams, flowcharts, data flow diagrams, requirements diagrams, and mind maps. Specialized editions add SysML for systems engineering and GSN for safety-case modeling. The tool provides traceability views and matrices, model validation, auto-layout, stereotypes and tagged values, and flexible styling to keep models consistent and readable.
Astah also offers practical interoperability, including basic code generation and reverse engineering (for example, for Java), XMI import/export, and export to formats like PNG, SVG, and PDF.
