I’ve seen several tweets comparing this to Nazis / The Holocaust and saying things like “this is how it begins”. I teach Holocaust Literature so let me be clear - this ISN’T how it began. This is already several stages along the way.

Oh yeah I remember when my kids were forcibly taken from me, with no indication that they'd ever see me again, and made to stay in cages for summer camp. Good times, what happy childhoods are made of, right?
Yeah, sharpie "I'M EVIL" on your forehead because you fucking are.
Separating children from parents as part of “border controls” is indefensible, immoral and shocking. This kind of leadership gives license to other countries to follow inhumane policies towards vulnerable refugees. Is this making America great? @RTENewsNow https://www.rte.ie/news/world/2018/0618/971266-us-border-immigration/
If your Tesla catches fire out of the blue and you post about it you're gonna get a bunch of Tesla brand defenders telling you cars catching fire is actually very normal and you should keep it to yourself
For folks complaining that Nazi comparisons are absurd hyperbole:
1. The line between robotic, unfeeling policy enforcement and atrocity is very thin.
2. Once they actually start killing people, it's too late. They're using Nazi tactics *now* and the time to stop them is *now.*
Any gazillionaire who calls himself a Banks-inspired utopian anarchist is just a Libertarian who jerks off to Wired.
Musk probably saw the word "Banks" on the cover and thought the book was about places to store money
“Yes, the Culture, which appears in most of the SF books, is socialist/communist/whateverist. There’s no money, private property is synonymous with sentimental value, nothing and nobody is exploited..." Iain Banks

A message from David Simon. Please read and share.
Unfortunately @jordanbpeterson this is *exactly* why I know I’m an atheist. Because I know that anything so primal and continuous and expressive of our deepest hopes and fears must be a projection.

Mighty tweet, mighty result. Even the once Constitutionally sacrosanct realm of Cabinet Confidentiality must bow to superior EU law.
EU law is a revolution of State accountability in very very slow motion.
I’m alarmed by the shift in focus from the grassroots campaigners and long standing leaders who won this thing @ailbhes @ivanabacik @OrlaNWCI @UnaMullally @maireadenright @fdelond et al. And enough with the “unforeseen”. You just weren’t listening.
Here’s a tweet from today’s union conversation that Elon liked. I’ve interviewed Tesla factory workers who are dealing with permanent disabilities from workplace injuries. You don’t need to have your hand cut off to lose the use of it.
Dear American fundamentalists and Alt-right social manipulators. Your shit doesnt work with an educated populace.
Pack your bags and get da foook out of my country! 😂
Thread. Good luck, Ireland.
Good luck and love to everyone voting to repeal the 8th today in Ireland. ♥️#repealthe8th
Deeply moved by the #HomeToVoteYes events unfolding. Videos from airports in Ireland of people who have flown back to go vote, others tweeting what their daughters and sons are doing.
One can only hope for tomorrow, and express support.
Pro-choice tweets are inspiring, hopeful or incredibly sad. I think one reason why is because an awful lot of the attempted baiting by the anti-choice side falls flat thanks to @repeal_shield. Future movements should take note.
And @TransparentRef too!
Heroes to all voters, on every side #VoteNo #Together4Yes #repealthe8th #savethe8th
