Have been using Lazada & Redmart for quite a few years. Product variety and logistics handling are surely very important, and I have to say you have been doing a good job, but one point I want to raise is the user interface, which is equally important, if not, more. Whenever I do grocery shopping I go for Redmart for sure, but when it comes to other types of shopping, I initially search on Lazada, but eventually would give up for Shopee. Different from any other e-commerce web, the lazada product display page does not have alignment, and that “hurts” eyes. Customers are more interested in getting product info, doing comparison in the simplest, cleanest way. Having creative but not practical “designs” on the user interface is not doing much good to shopping experience. What’s more, after click into a specific product link, the title font is always bigger than the product pictures and contains too much info, how does do anything good to consumers who are mostly visual hunters? There might be people come to e-commerce web already knowing what exactly they need to buy, but majority does not, and they are happy to caught by attracting pictures. I will continue to support Lazada group but also hope to see some improvement in future.

The app for the online purchase is good and effective. There are regular discount vouchers provided for using this platform. And these discount vouchers are real value for money. Most of pricing is the best around. Shipping by the courier provider is a pain at times. Some of them call or SMS on the day of delivery to alert. At other times, there is absolutely no notification, and they turn up unannounced, even as late as 10 p.m. Or as early as 8:30 a.m. The shipping notifications by LAZADA used to be good. But their service is dropping fast recently. Customer service is a hit and miss affair. At times it can be world class and at other times, pathetic. Listening to the AVR system voice that greets you when you call the help desk, is a real irritating experience. Hope they change that to a more pleasant and a welcoming voice, with better voice modulation. Overall, the price is good. Customer Service needs to be improved. App is effective and provides value for money.

All you need is one bad incident. I have been a loyal Lazada over the other S brand online app over 7 years. I have always been a responsible shopper and not abuse any return policy or refund policy. In April 2025, I purchased a baby milk formula and when I received it it was totally contaminated; tin is opened and milk powder exposed. It should be reasonable and normal to raise a refund / return process. Turned out to be a horrible conversation where Lazada rejected the claim as asked for proof of unboxing. Through multiple contact with call centre and online help chat, they are asking time and time again for evidence despite sending over 5 photos and 1 video to both the retailer and Lazada. Yet they still gave me 24 hours to provide more evidence to dispute the refund. It was eventually refunded after waste of 1-2 hours of my time across multiple contact points with a chat box trying to explain the difficulty of uploading video. I don’t think shoppers need to be put through the kind of experience I have went through, given it is a simple clear cut exposed food product case. All you need is one bad experience for people to try out available alternatives. In the worst case, I’ll rather regress to traditional method of going to physical supermarket. You have lost all of my trust Lazada.

The customer service for dispute was so bad

The app was alright, however, some merchants are very bad and Lazada’s customer service was not helpful at all for dispute cases. We ordered some pet products that was with very good review and good amount of sales record (more than 3k), however found out the whole thing to be a scam. We didn’t know until we got sent only 1 product instead 5 (which is the minimum order quantity), and asked the merchant to send the rest but no read no response at all. We then asked for refund, but got rejected by the merchant instantly. It was then we found out that there were several people who got in the same situation as us, and their review was not prioritized even though those review are the most recent purchases. We turned to Lazada customer service for help to solve the dispute, yet after 2 weeks and 4 rounds of emails and phone calls, still haven’y solved our problem. They asked us to go to the merchant to apply for refund, even though it has been clear that the merchant intentionally ignored all inquiries and deny the refund. Lazada’s customer service seemed to ignore the fact that the merchant already got similar cases from several months ago, but only follow the manual instructions to ask us to be patient and rely on merchant’s reliability.
