Could we fix https://launchpad.net/~janitor with a better description?

Asked by Christian Ehrhardt

This is a bot that auto-confirms or fix-release bugs like [2], I'd love to say look at [3] but it is too much.
The problem here is that this is very description less in [1].

So people see the action on the bug, might follow the user and all they find is:
"Launchpad Janitor does not use Launchpad."

This is owned by Launchpad automation AFAIK, so you could just update [1] with a better description which would already help.
Or as in [4] we could own it by a team that can then update it.

Hi Christian, I checked internally with the team, and it seems like the description for deactivated bot accounts can't be changed directly.

It also seems "<username> does not use launchpad" is also a generic message that is displayed on any account that is deactivated. For example, I deactivated [5] and it displays the generic message "Joe mantilla does not use Launchpad."

I will poke around to see what can be done here.

It is not supported to own accounts by a team.

We asked around and found that it might be possible to enable the bot account and then change the description to something meaningful, however we are not sure of the side effects of enabling bot accounts.

Based on this matrix conversation: https://matrix.to/#/!SBxrrnuWWZXujjZseh:rory.gay/$TM-EhoUfCchtBsF8yA5MePWbX6I4hQzfE7K1zXhLAFM?via=ubuntu.com&via=matrix.org&via=kde.org it seems like we would have to spend some time investigating and testing on pre-prod if changing the "active" status of bot account is plausible or not.

Please reach out internally if this needs attention and has to be re-priortised.

Thanks,
Tushar
