Chef Storm is moody, antisocial...and he just asked me to be his fake boyfriend.

Most people on the island avoid the hot-tempered chef, but he doesn't scare me. Sure, he's prickly, but I've also caught him feeding a stray cat, so I know there's more to him than the sky-high, barbed-wire fence he's built around himself.

When Storm's ex-husband shows up unexpectedly during the off-season and refuses to go home, pretending to be Storm’s boyfriend is apparently my new job.

Faking it with my grumpy boss should not be this much fun, especially since the last thing I need is to make a fool of myself by falling for anyone else on the island.

Is there anything more exciting than being swept up in a storm? Maybe taming one…

***Taken by Storm is a grumpy/sunshine, sort of boss/employee, definitely fake boyfriend (except how fake is it if they’re ACTUALLY hooking up?), second book in The Off-Season series where the residents of gay resort island get up to WAY too much fun once all of the tourists leave for the season.     This was a cute fake boyfriend romance which is always a win for me. I would say it was a little heavy on the sexy time and less heavy on story but it was ok. I'm hoping for a follow up for Donnie.

    Overall, a great beachy story to read for spring break.

    This is a mm modern romance, the second book in a series that should be read in order. “Hennessey” made a mad-dash decision three years ago to leave his life and stay on the Island. When grumpy Chef Storm’s ex-husband shows up on the Island, he drags Hennessy into pretending to be his boyfriend. They fall into an interesting friendship as they enjoy one another, but what will happen e we hen the ex leaves the Island? This was a fun continuation of book one with a cast of hilarious characters! I’m so looking forward to the next book in the series after the ending of book two!

I loved watching grumpy Storm open up little by little, letting his softer side show more (at least for Hennessey and Mr. Tubbs the cat).     I'm pretty sure this series is just going to keep on getting better. Hennessey was definitely taken by Storm in this story and I loved every minute of it. When I saw it was going to be a 'fake boyfriend' trope, I was a little discouraged. I shouldn't have been, of course. K.M. Neuhold can pull me in and make forget everything else around me!! The chemistry between Chef Storm and Hennessey is electric from the start. They don't try to fight it too hard. When it's hot like that, who would want to!? And you know Harold made some appearances here and there. He wants these men to fall in love as much as we do!! I'm looking forward to the next one!!
