    Honestly, I don't usually wear makeup unless I'm going out for a special evening. It's enough for me to just cleanse and moisturize, but something about these blush sticks called to me. I think it's because right now, we're in the dead of winter, and anything I can do to remind myself that Spring will be here helps a lot. These blush sticks give my super pale skin a bright, warm glow that makes me feel happy when I catch myself in the mirror. (See my photo.)

    You get two in the pack: one is a matte blush in a kind of dusty-rose color, and the other is more shimmery peach (they call it dewy). I used the matte color on my cheeks and the peach on my lips. Both colors are fairly subtle. They go on very smoothly and blend well. And the sticks include very soft brushes on the opposite ends to help with blending. I really like not needing to use a separate applicator tool. I also appreciate that this makeup is meant for all skin colors, from light to dark. It would be interesting to see the differences on different complexions.

    Note that there is a warning on the box stating that the products "contain pigments not suitable for the eye area in the U.S.A." I don't know what ingredients are causing this statement to be made, but it's funny that the implication is that these pigments would be suitable for the eye area outside the U.S. Regardless, I don't use pink or orange eye makeup anyway, so I'm not worried about it.

    For me, someone who rarely wears makeup, these Nudestix seem pretty pricy, so I personally would not use them every day. But the quality is great, and according to the product page, they contain no parabens, sulfates, or phthalates, which is something I look for in personal care products.

    I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars here. The formula is thick and a little harder to blend than some others, but it's not outside what I'd consider normal range, and it's far from the only one in the category that's on the firm side. The brush is also firm, and I like having it included because this could well be all the color you need to carry when traveling, for example, since it's eye/lip/cheek safe. The bottom line is that I like the concept.

    The colors are HARD NO, though. That's why I went with 4 instead of 3, because that is to SOME extent a personal preference. These are ORANGE ORANGE, not like the soft warm-ish colors pictured. Straight up light orange and burnt orange. Somehow both are far too light to be of any use as a lip color for what I'd call about 3/4 of the population (unless you like your lip color lighter than your actual lips), and the Peony one is lighter than probably 99% of the lips I've ever seen in my life (and I come from pale people). So I don't prefer warm colors, and to that extent it is personal preference. To the extent that these are leaning brassy rather than warm, that's an issue, not a preference. If you have warm to very warm undertones, these will be fine for you. If you're even a little neutral to cool-leaning, keep scrolling.

    My star ratings explained:
    5 - Outstanding intersection of price and quality, an excellent product for an excellent price. Absolutely recommend.
    4 - Good product at a good to reasonable price, no major complaints. It may have some minor flaws or areas for improvement, but I would still generally recommend for most people or for situations specifically covered in the review. Excellent but overpriced products may also land here.
    3 - Aggressively mid for some reason, either the product itself, poor enough listing that it impacts customer experience, or price high enough that I would tend not to recommend on that basis. For example, clothing listings with lack of size chart or pieces that do not conform to the size chart may land here, as will clothing with questionable fabric or construction. Jewelry with a listing that plays fast and loose with terminology as compared to the actual product in a mild to moderate way may also land in this range. I do not generally recommend, but there may be some niche circumstances where it would be of potential use.
    2 - Not even mid. Something here is not matching up with the description, or the quality is so poor that I cannot in good conscience recommend it in any situation I can think of. Descriptions might be poor enough not only to impact customer experience, but play fast and loose with terminology in a particularly egregious way.
    1 - If I'm giving a one-star review, there is something WRONG, and I believe it to be intentional -- eg not the fabric described, not the materials promised (esp with regard to leather, cashmere, silk, or jewelry), or similar issue such that I would tend to recommend avoiding the product altogether. I don't just not-recommend this, I anti-recommend this.

    Skin tone & type: Medium neutral and oily

    I love the thought behind this set. How clever. A set of blush sticks: one with a dewy finish and the other, a matte one While I'm not a makeup artist, both blushes seem to be colours that could work with most, if not all, skin tones. They certainly worked with mine. I tend to switch between a light medium neutral and medium neutral. The good thing about these cream blush sticks is that they can be used to create a light flush of colour or built up via layering for a more vibrant colour. I've gravitated more towards the one that offers a dewy finish because I feel that is what looks most flattering on me.

    Pros:
    Good colour payoff
    Easy to blend
    Universally suitable shades (in my opinion, at least)
    Buildable colour intensity
    Easy to remove at the end of the day
    Smooth and even coverage (zero patchiness)
    Love the versatility for a monochromatic all-over look (cheeks, eyes & lips)

    Cons:
    Wear time is a little on the low side (3-4 hours before a touch-up is necessary)
    A little on the expensive side ($47 -- price at the point of this review)

    On the whole, I would still recommend this set. I find them so versatile and while it is pricey, it is a multi-tasking product that can be used on cheeks, eyes and lips, so essentially, it's like getting three products in one.

    This is a great value set as you get two sticks in soft colors that look great and flattering on any skin tone. The two shades are nice on their own or can be combined. For more color payoff it can be layered. Each stick has a brush on the other end, which is on the firmer side and blends the product well. I love that they are multi use sticks that can be used not just on the cheeks, but also on the lips and even on the eyes for subtle color. The blush sticks are creamy and go on smooth and give just the right pop of color. They’re easy to take on the go and easy to touch up when needed or darken for evening wear. The sticks look darker than when the color is actually once applied to the skin. The colors are soft and give a nice healthy glow. Overall, a great quality and value for two pieces that are multi-use and come with an included brush. A little goes a long way and so they will last a good amount of time.
