    I enjoy Mercedes Ron books but this book felt too similar to “the summer I turned pretty”. Two brothers crush on their female childhood friend. She knows one is sweet, safe brother (Jeremiah/Taylor) and the other has deeper issues (Conrad/Thiago) but she can’t stop thinking about him. Felt like more of the same narrative. Maybe book 2 and 3 will separate the similarities of these characters. It was just okay for me.

    I really enjoy Mercedes Ron’s YA Romances. This is the second series that I have read of hers and I am not disappointed! Definitely The Summer I Turned Pretty vibes!

    I typically enjoy love triangles but it is always harder for me when it is between brothers. I love both Thiago & Taylor for different reasons, as does Kamila but I really hate seeing how she is jerking them both around. The sparks fly off the pages between Kami & Thiago. And the sweetness of Taylor when he reveals how he feels about her. Ugh. Such a difficult choice!!!

    There is so much past trauma & family drama throughout the book. It really was such an emotional roller coaster. Kami really drove me crazy but I do have to remind myself that this is YA when I see how immature she is at times. BUT It was her mother who really was the villain in my eyes.

    This was an immersive read for me. I was able to listen to the audiobook from @hoopladigital & @rochesterhillspl.

    Side Note: I did watch this adaption on Amazon Prime and enjoyed it.
