Who we are

Intersection for the Arts is a bedrock Bay Area arts nonprofit that’s dedicated to helping artists grow. Our staff provides people with useful resources to realize creative and cultural projects. We’re a passionate team of artists helping artists.

This Friday, January 30th, Intersection will be closed in solidarity with those impacted by recent events in Minneapolis and by immigration enforcement. We remain committed to the care, dignity, and the collective well-being of our community. In moments like these, rest is not retreat—it is resistance. May we slow down, look out for one another, and hold our shared humanity with intention. ... See MoreSee Less

We’re still carrying the energy from this gathering. 💛At a significant moment for the arts, the Bay Area Arts & Culture Collaboration Summit affirmed the power of artists and culture workers and planted seeds for collaboration. Visionaries from across the sector shared their models, bright spots, challenges, and aspirations—weaving together a collective story. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of walking together at this moment, within a movement. Intersection's Executive Director, Yesenia Sanchez, presented on Fiscal Sponsorship as a shared economy business model for the arts that increases the potential for diversity, equity, collaboration, and support during these turbulent times.Deep gratitude to the brilliant speakers for generously sharing their vision and expertise: Kristen Jacobson, Anne Huang, Olivia Malabuyo Tablante, Rebecca Fitton, Gabrielle Christian, David Blazevich, Shafer Mazow, Kevin Nelson, Sarah Williams, Charlotte Wheeler, Meghan Crosby-Jolliffe, Margot Melcon, Anna Shneiderman, Zakiya Harris, Cristine Kelly, Esailama Artry-Diouf, BK Williams, Rashida Chase, Liz O’Malley, Lori Fogarty, JK Fowler, and Julie Baker. And thank you to @Oakstop for hosting us and holding space for connection and possibility. We’re excited to keep building—together. ...
