This is one of those pics where I feel bad about what happened behind the scenes, even if the result is cute enough, albeit not very 'me'. My lovely  Syvies gifted this to me last year, but at the time had no idea about my warning _{(see the Permissions section)} for drawing Patch that I strongly dislike art of only and specifically their default form when depicted as overly masculine... and this happens to be exactly that, depicted even more masculine than usual with a buff, toned chest that wasn't present in any ref and couldn't be more opposite the way I see myself as Patch. I'm a dorky, lithe nerd, not a beefcake! Nothing against that of course (Grey is quite toned in dragon form after all), muscles are merely counter to my noodle-like properties, and as my primary sona, I want Patch to reflect how I feel.

Despite being immediately informed of the issue, the artist unequivocally outright refused to change the gender of the YCH, not even for extra money! (On the plus side, at least they got Patch's polydactyly right. Many artists miss that and I have to point it out.) Now don't get me wrong, this is by no means the artist's fault as they weren't told this beforehand and being given male and female refs surely confused them, but given their demonstrated lack of care for the sensitivity of the topic of gender identity and how dismissive they were of my concerns, I certainly don't intend on working with them in the future. I also don't blame Syve, they couldn't have known to ask, and it's perfectly reasonable not to think of checking my Art Fight or F-List beforehand.
