Wow, I haven't made any kind of post here in over a year. 0..0 Madness
Well, here is my latest 3D printed project I been working on. I am almost finished with it, just needs to attach the leather strips on the handgrip and on the lower coupler.
I designed the whole staff to be broken down into three parts. The top section contains the Ankh symbol and short wooden staff piece. Then the middle with the handgrip and longer staff, Finally the lower section and the printed feet including a bottom cap.
I created the Ankh symbol from scratch and split it front and back for easier printing as they contoured and would not lay flat on the bed with a bunch of supports (I don't like using supports and often design to minimize them if not completely eliminated).
Anyway, I made this for an Anubis at a local furmeet. I overheard him talking to someone else about his staff being broken. Since I do a lot of 3D printing, I offered to make a new custom one and this is the result (so far).
I was planning to finish it today (oh so close) for the fursuit walk along San Antonio's Riverwalk later today. But alas I found out yesterday that he couldn't make it. Oh well, I have other stuff I planned to get done for it. Besides, I wanted to add more details that I wouldn't have time for if I had to complete it today anyway. So there is that. But still you have been nice to present it today for the walk.
Details like adding Egyptian Hieroglyphics on the black staff along with some Greek and Latin characters like a Rosetta stone. I have a few ideas on that including 3D printed raised plates, use a gold color paint marker, or maybe some decals or stickers. I'll figure something out.
BTW, this thing stands at just over six feet tall (6' and 0.5") when full assembled in all its glory. Behold it greatness or something like that.
