Character Mirth Spindle drawn as a robber fly, family Asilidae. These are very cool predatory flies.
I will be opening commission slots for this sort of thing where I turn your character into an insect and will try to incorporate as many of your characters features as possible while retaining a look accurate to the real life insect. It will be a semi realistic sketchy speedpaint sort of style with a plain background like this and will cost 35 USD. I can add other details if you like, such as the insect dead on a pin, maybe eating someone, laying eggs, parasitism, etc, but depending on how much extra work it will be the cost will be a bit higher.
Ideally, the commissioner will choose an insect group from this list or I can help them choose one at random, as I have reference specimens on hand that I can refer to under the microscope (and I like them). But if you really want a different one, I can give that a go as well. The reference specimens are of species collected in New Zealand.

I'll throw my hat into the ring, I think! Here's my reference, if I'm chosen: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40180487/
I'd love to be something vespidae. Wasps/yellowjackets are cool...
