Old work from my last book. Poor hyena kid scavenging on a dropped ice cream because he can't afford to buy one.

5 seconds rule? ;P
OK, we'll buy him 2?
In my technical college, I'd carry two books a day with me, tops
Here, It took a couple weeks but I saved up enough money to buy a clean sandwich. You can have it.
We should buy him ice cream until he gets sick of it
Seriously, you and your adorable art, it just makes me- AAAAAARRRGGGHGHHH!!!!
like an impoverished cub going to school.
Emotion, runs deep in this piece.
Beautiful work on capturing so much emotion in a very relatable situation.
*buys the poor thing an ice cream*
Forget the ice cream, give him a four-course meal. ^_^
*okay.....plus the ice cream* ^_^ hehe
That being said, I have mixed emotions from how adorable this is and also from that description. <:S
*murrss softly and looks at all the offers above to buy him new clothes and quite a lot of ice creme... and then just stands up and straightens my dress and looks at the beautifully adorable young little hyena child.. standing there over a lost ice creme cone with some on his fingers and his nose.. because he has nothing else but what's on his back to keep him warm..
I simply huff softly... reach down and gently pull the pack from his small body... adjust the straps and sling it on my own back..
.... and then very carefully bend down and pick him up into my arms.. holding him to my breasts and wrap my own coat around him should he be cold ... and then just whisper to him that I'm going to do him better then anyone above..
I'm going to take him with me and give him a "home"... with a bed to sleep in.. warm food.. and enough love that his heart can laugh without needing a book to tell him how to do it on those cold, lonely, fearful nights when it seems that it's just him against the world..
no child should be without a home if possible.. not if someone has the power and strength to give it freely to them that they might grow and become strong and understand that the world isn't so cruel a place that they have no hope left that they cannot laugh freely in their little hearts.
You are right, no child should be without a home. But then, I'd argue no people should be without a home. No one should lack in food or shelter or safety. No one should lack the ability to laugh because they feel overwhelmed by the sadness and cruelty around them.
and I speak from RL experience of having to have lived on the street for almost 3 months..
It's rough for a grown-up.. but it's not anything I want to have a child experience.. not in my heart of hearts..
and let them FEEL what it is like for 40 days under the yoke as "JOE AVERAGE!"... let THEM see what it's like down HERE..with the rest of us..
This is a lovely piece of artwork! I love the realistic look of this masterpiece!
I hope that you have a great and blessed day/night!
I need something fluffy to calm myself with it.
I'd buy him 100 Ice creams if I could!
Also greatly drawn, love all the details.
