Just for You - Mojo Sketch 77 Revisited

Hey friends! Today I'm popping in with a bit of fun featuring the Not 2 Shabby March Box of the Month.  This little bear is just the cutest and I thought it would be perfect for this sketch.

My friend Danni has a Facebook group and does use your stash challenges. One of this month's challenges is Mojo Sketch 77. So I just had to play!  I picked out some fave patterns from the Hoppy Little Moments paper pad, inking the edges with a bit of green ink and matting with garden green cardstock.

The sweet bear is colored with Copic markers and then I ink blended a bit of sky with tumbled glass distress ink and a cloud stencil.  Then it was time for the sentiment and a trio of sparkling dots for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Mojo Monday Sketch 1 Revisited

Hi friends! Today I'm revisitng my first ever Mojo Monday sketch with a couple of cards using the December Paper Pad Club from Not 2 Shabby. The Valentine Mice paper pad has a page design that has several cut aparts on it. I cut them with my Brother Scan-n-Cut to use in place of certain layers on this sketch.  For this first card I used some gold matting to dress things up and a heart die cut hanging from her tail for the sentiment.

When I started these sketches way back when I purposely didn't include measurements because I felt it was important for people to feel comfortable using whatever measurements fit their chosen elements, papers, or stamps. But so many people requested them, I started putting them on the later sketches
So I've updated the sketch graphic, changing the inner panel size to my most commonly used panel now... 3.75 x 5" and adding measurements on the side for those who prefer them. Save the image below and print at 100% and it should be exact.

My second card was given to my husband for our anniversary this past weekend. Hard to believe we've been married for 28 years! I really love this sentiment from the Always and Forever stamp set, so embossed it onto a die cut square. I masked off the edges and blended some tattered rose ink as a backdrop. This is a great way to add matting without adding bulk to an already layer heavy card.

I finished off with the sweet mouse cut apart on dimensional foam and a few sparkling enamel dots for accent.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! What do you think about revisiting past sketches? Let me know in the comments.

N2S December Inspiration Hop

Hi friends! It's time for the Not 2 Shabby monthly inspiration hop and giveaway! For my video today I'm featuring the December Paper Pad Club and Stamp of the Month. Isn't this little bunny with his bundle of hearts adorable?

I've been battling a cold for quite some time now and finally feel like I'm turning the corner, but my creative motivation has been slow in kicking back in. So for this card, I pulled out something that always seems to get my creative juices flowing a card stock.  This sketch is Mojo  Monday 168 from 15 years ago. Wait, 15 years??? How did that happen!? Definitely an oldie, but a goodie. You can watch the creative process and hear me talk about my approach to sketches a bit in the video below or watch it on my YouTube channel.

Bright Blooms

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a bright little card to add a little sunshine to a dreary January day. It's definitely been cold and dreary here in Idaho. So I pulled out one of the stamp sets I designed for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and got to work with a fun yellow and blue color palette.

For the card, I started by stamping the image from Special Blooms in Memento ink, then coloring with Copic markers. I die cut with the coordinating dies, layering up three die cuts for dimension. The sentiment from the same set is embossed onto a circle die cut with dress blues ink and clear embossing powder. I then overstamped the circle with the Script Background stamp in limoncello ink.

The layout was inspired by Mojo Monday sketch #444. I used papers from an old paper pad from Not 2 Shabby. This one was called Lemon Brightness, but it's not currently available. I do love it, though, and am trying to use more of my ginormous stash of stamping goodies this year.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your day is as special as you are!

Gnome Worries

Hey there, Gnomies! It's my day to share over on the Jaded Blossom Blog and I thought it would BEE fun to create a gnome card. The card starts out with the Gnome Worries Bee Happy set. I stamped it at an angle onto a leftover die cut from the Window Card Mat Die. The image was colored with Copic markers, accented with stickles, and matted with black cardstock.

I pulled out a fun bee themed paper pack for my layers, using my Mojo Monday 543 sketch for the start of the layout. This particular sketch called for a circle, but I swapped it out with die cuts from the Stitched Octagon Dies and added an extra layer, since I'm a more is more kind of girl! I decided to use one of the hexagons on the honeycomb paper to house my sentiment, which is from the Gnome Candies *Grid Style*. I love how it fit so perfectly there. I finished off with more paper from the same paper pad, and a bunch of black mats.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a bee-utiful day!

Falling for Christmas Cocoa

Hey all! Happy Friday! I'm popping in today to share a little Christmas goodness with you I was inspired by a few different challenges/events.

First up is the kick-off to the Falling For the Holidays linky party over at the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog. I thought it was the perfect chance to ink up this adorable Cocoa Love stamp set from Not 2 Shabby. I was so excited that it finally came back in stock, since I missed out on it last winter. I also wanted to use the darling new Gingerbread Kisses paper pad.

The challenge this week in the There's a Stamp for That group on Facebook includes my Mojo Sketch 526 as one of the options. I couldn't pass up a chance to take another look at this sketch, so got to work selecting papers and cutting all my layers.  Once the papers were selected, I colored up the cocoa cup image with Copic markers and cut with the Cocoa Love Shabby Snips, cutting a few extra to layer up for dimension.  Next I cut a couple of the peppermint images from the papers I was using and coated with my sparkle lacquer pen.  The sentiment is from the Cup of Cheer set. I added a few white gel pen and glossy accents here and there to my image, then adhered everything to an A2 card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Mojo Monday 560

Hi friends! It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch. This will be the final Mojo sketch for the foreseeable future. I'm not sure when or if I'll be back to sketches, but I do need to take a break for a while. Life is pulling me in all sorts of directions now that we're fully vaccinated and life is starting to get back to it's pre-2020 pace. I have enjoyed seeing all your creations and hope you'll continue to use my past sketches as inspiration.

As always, we're playing just for fun. I'm an equal opportunity stamper, so feel free to use any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on May 31, 2021. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs, and never worry about substituting a shape or layer.

For today's sketch I went with a slimline design. I didn't really follow my sketch very literally, but I just couldn't fit the circle in with the sentiment I wanted to use. You got to do what works, right? I used the Walk By Faith set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. This set and all  Rebecca Rios Designs sets are 25% off through May 20. Below are a few of my favorite cards with sets Rebecca has designed.

I started by stamping the eyeglass image from the set  repeatedly in rainbow colors. I then used the pink, yellow, and orange inks and my MISTI to stamp a blend from pink to orange with the faith stamp.  The other part of the sentiment is stamped in black, then I layered both panels on black cardstock, popping the eyeglass panel up on a foam sheet and adding a little shading with a copic marker and a black pen. I also added a little shadow to the faith sentiment. All of this is layered onto a colorful diagonal stripe paper and then added to a 3.5" x 8.5" slimline card base.

This fits the rainbow color challenge over in the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps VIP Facebook group as well. We'd love to have you join us over there!

Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you've been inspired to create something with this sketch. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Mojo Monday 559

Hi friends! It's a brand new month, and time for a new Mojo Monday sketch! I hope you can find a little time in the next couple weeks to play along with me! I always love to see what you create.

For today's card I printed out my new Favorite Mom Digi set that just released with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. You might recognize the digi, as it was one I released with Verve back in 2016.  I made a few tweaks to the flowers and such, and am so excited to work with these images and sentiments again!  I colored the cup and flower image with Copic markers, then fussy cut.

The pink background was designer paper and I added a subtle tone on tone background with picked raspberry distress oxide and the Delightfully Delicate Stencil Some square dies , more patterned paper and a teeny border strip finish things off.

I hope you'll pop on over to the SNSS store to check out my digi. There's also a fabulous Buy 2 Get 1 FREE sale  on Jennifer Nilsson Art stamp sets through May 6! Here are a few of the cards I've created with her awesome sets...

Mojo Monday 558

Hi friends! I'm posting a little bit later in the day than planned, but I'm here with a new Mojo Monday sketch! I hope you can find a little time in the next couple weeks to play along with me!

I had lots of fun with layers for this sketch, pulling from a pretty Echo Park paper pad.  The darling lamb is from the Sweet Little Lamb set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I colored it up with Copic markers then die cut with circle dies.  The angled panel is cut from a 4" panel of paper that I marked at 3.5" on one side and 2.25" on the other, then lined up the marks to cut the angle. Super simple but it brings a fun element to the card. After layering up my papers, I stamped the congrats sentiment from Engagement & Wedding Innies on the main panel, then accented with a few pearls to finish things off.

Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you've been inspired to create something with this sketch. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Today's sketch is a clean and simple one and my card uses the sweet Garden Fairy DIGI from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I colored her with Copic markers, then hand trimmed around the image.  My papers are from the Echo Park April Club kit. I used the Fence & Grass Die set in place of the scallop border, adding the sentiment from the digi set down below and embellishing with a grass die cut with the same paper.

Today's card is another entry in the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.  I just received a Reverse Confetti order with this sweet little dino set, and decided he needed to be drinking coffee. So I pulled out the Coffee & You set to go along with it, and got to work stamping, coloring, and cutting. My colors were chosen by this Dragon Tails paper I picked up at Tuesday Morning a while back.  The stars are cut with the Seeing Stars Confetti Cuts.

Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you've been inspired to create something with this sketch. Thanks so much for stopping by.
