What is a presale registration page?
Presale registrations are a powerful way to connect with your audience, sell tickets early, and build excitement before your event goes public.
With Hive, you can create an eye-catching registration page and set up automated messages to deliver presale codes and ticket links—saving you time by automatically managing signups, confirmations, reminders, and launch notifications. Once it’s live, the process runs on autopilot, freeing you up to focus on promoting your event and driving ticket sales.
Getting started
From the left-hand navigation, go to Capture > Presale Registrations.
Click the New Presale Registration button in the top-right corner.
If you have a previous presale registration that you'd like to use as a starting point, you can easily duplicate it. Click the Actions dropdown next to the existing presale registration page and select Duplicate to create a copy.
Lastly, you can also create a presale registration page directly from within the Events Hub. To do this:
Navigate to your event in the Events Hub
Click Marketing Activities
Select + Create Presale
The presale registration page will automatically be linked to your event, pulling in the event’s name and image.
Presale registration setup
Select your upcoming event.
Add the Presale URL from your ticketing platform.
Enter your Presale Code and Meta tracking pixel (if you have one).
Set your Presale Date Range and Timezone so tickets go live at the right moment.
Click Save and Continue.
Customizing your registration page
If your Hive account is connected to your ticketing platform, selecting the event will automatically pull in:
Event title
Banner image
Event description
You can edit these details to match your presale campaign’s style. You can also:
Choose your button colour and text
Pick a Light or Dark theme for the page
By default, Hive’s presale registration pages collect the following details: email and opt-in status, mobile number and opt-in status, first and last name, city, state, and country. At this time, these fields can’t be customized.
When ready, click Save & Continue.
Presale registration automation
Once someone registers, your automation will send them pre-made messages:
A confirmation message after signup
A “coming soon” reminder
A “presale is live” message with their unique code and ticket link
In the example above, an automation split was used so that contacts opted into SMS follow the SMS path, while others follow the email path. When your automation is ready click Save and Publish. You’ll then be taken to the presale registration details page, where you can preview the page, copy the shareable registration link, and grab the embed code if you’d like to add it directly to your website.
Notes:
All email/SMS templates and steps can be edited to fit your brand.
When testing your presale registration page, using an email linked to a Hive account will prompt you to sign in to Hive. To experience the full registration process as a new participant, we recommend testing with a different email address.
When you save and publish your automation from the presale registration page, it will not appear on your Automations page in Hive. To view data for this specific presale registration automation, you’ll need to access it directly from that presale registration’s dashboard.
Main presale registration page
From your main Presale Registration page, you can view all the presale registration campaigns created in your account. This page displays:
Title of the presale registration
Presale active dates
Date the presale registration was created
Number of signups
Status of the presale registration:
Draft – Saved but not published
Upcoming – Published but not yet started
Live – Running between the start and end date
Completed – Presale has ended
From the Actions button on the left-hand side, you can:
Edit a presale registration
Duplicate a registration page
View reporting for the presale registration
Share the presale registration (copy the URL)
Delete a presale registration
Note: Deleting a presale cannot be undone and will permanently remove all associated data. We recommend deleting with caution.
