When a credit card is declined, the only information Hive receives from your bank is that the payment didn’t go through—we don’t receive the specific reason why.
Common reasons a card may be declined include:
Insufficient funds
Expired card
Incorrect card number, expiry date, or CVV/CVC code
Payment flagged or blocked by your financial institution (e.g. fraud prevention)
Daily or transaction limits set by your bank
To resolve this:
Double-check that your credit card details (number, expiry date, CVV/CVC, billing address) are entered correctly and up to date. You can update this information directly in your Hive account. Check out: Where can I update my billing information?
If everything looks correct, reach out to your bank or card issuer. Ask them to approve the transaction and confirm there are no blocks or restrictions in place.
If your payment continues to be declined, it could lead to interruptions in your account access. If you've already tried the two troubleshooting steps above, feel free to reach out to our support team at support@hive—we’re here to help and can look into the issue further!
