Your Meta Dataset ID is the unique numeric identifier Meta uses to receive events from tools like the Meta Pixel or Conversions API.
This ID is required when connecting Meta tracking to Hive.
In Meta’s updated terminology, the Dataset ID replaces what was previously known as the Pixel ID, but it functions the same way by identifying the data source that receives your events.
Steps to find your Meta Dataset ID
Log into Meta Business Manager.
Navigate to your Ad Account.
Open Events Manager.
In the left navigation, select Data Sources → Datasets.
Click the Dataset you want to use.
Open the Settings tab.
Locate the field labeled Dataset ID.
Copy the numeric Dataset ID when adding it to Hive.
Your Dataset ID is typically a 15–16 digit number.

How the Dataset is used in Hive
Your Meta Dataset ID allows Hive to send and associate tracking events with your Meta account.
In Hive, it can be used to:
Add your Meta Pixel to Hive Capture apps to track visitor activity and build audiences for retargeting in Meta.
Connect your Conversions API to Hive to send Purchase events to Meta for conversion tracking and campaign optimization.
All Dataset configuration and tracking setup must be completed directly within Meta Events Manager. Hive does not configure or manage your Meta tracking settings. Hive only sends events to the Dataset you provide.
If your organization has multiple Pixels or Datasets, confirm you are using the Dataset connected to the ad account where your campaigns run.
