Hive places a subscriber in this segment as soon as we detect any indicator that open tracking may be disabled for that recipient. This most commonly happens when we see bot or pre-fetch opens from their email client (for example, privacy protection features that automatically load email content).
When this occurs, Hive cannot reliably measure open tracking for that subscriber going forward. However, this segment is safe to include in any campaign you send.

Why someone in this segment may still show opens or clicks
Being in the “Subscribers Who Have Tracking Disabled” segment does not mean that future opens or clicks can never be tracked.
There are several scenarios where activity may still be recorded:
The subscriber opens an email on a device or email client where open tracking is enabled
The subscriber clicks a link in the email (Hive infers an open from clicks)
The subscriber uses an email client that pre-fetches opens, but still sends legitimate open events
Because subscribers may switch devices or email clients, activity can still appear even if they were previously flagged for tracking-disabled behaviour.
Reporting impact
Blocking email opens is becoming increasingly common due to enhanced privacy protections and smarter email clients.
Because of this, it’s increasingly important to monitor:
Click rates
Attributed revenue
These metrics provide a more accurate picture of engagement and campaign performance than opens alone.
Subscribers in the “Subscribers Who Have Tracking Disabled” segment are automatically excluded from open rate calculations. This helps ensure your campaign reporting remains as accurate as possible.
