When a Meta Pixel is applied to a Capture page, Hive automatically sends engagement events to Meta whenever users interact with the page.
This allows you to:
Create Custom Audiences from Capture page visitors
Retarget users who did not complete signup
Optimize campaigns for Lead or CompleteRegistration events
Improve Meta campaign performance with additional engagement signals
Hive Capture Tools include:
Contests
Presales
Landing Pages
Signup Forms
Meta Pixel vs Meta Dataset
Meta recently introduced Datasets, which can receive events from multiple sources.
However, the ID attached to the Dataset is still the numeric ID used to send events (with the Pixel set up within the Dataset), and this is the value you add to Hive.
Example Pixel ID: 123456789012345
How Tracking Works in Hive
When a Capture page is published with a Meta Pixel ID applied:
The page loads
Hive sends engagement events to Meta
Meta records those events in the Dataset
The events can be used for audiences and campaign optimization
Meta Pixel IDs can be added in two ways:
Tracking: Add the Pixel ID in Ads → Tracking to automatically apply it to new Capture pages.
Page-Level Tracking: Add the Pixel ID directly to an individual Capture page.
Events Hive Sends From Capture Apps
Hive is able to send standard Meta events:
PageView — when the page loads
Lead — when someone begins signup (where applicable)
CompleteRegistration — when someone submits their contact info
These events power retargeting and allow Meta to optimize toward capture actions.
