Your Hive contact list includes everyone in your account, but not all contacts are opted in to receive marketing emails. Contacts can unsubscribe at any time.
Hive is for sending marketing emails only, and email campaigns may be sent only to contacts who have opted in. We do not support sending to contacts without consent.
It’s a good idea to monitor your subscribed count regularly and investigate any sudden changes to understand the cause. You can check your current number of subscribed email contacts at any time by following the steps below in your account.
View subscriber counts
Go to your Analytics page and look under the Subscriber Growth and Engagement Level section. You’ll see the Total Subscribers number.
Total Subscribers means:
Contacts currently subscribed to receive your emails
Counted toward your monthly billing total
The maximum audience you can email
Why you might not be able to email certain contacts
You won’t be able to send emails to contacts if:
They’ve unsubscribed — Every email footer includes an unsubscribe link. Once clicked, they’re opted out until they re-subscribe.
They’ve marked your email as spam — This automatically unsubscribes them to protect your deliverability.
They have an invalid email address — Hive checks email validity when importing or capturing contacts. Old, inaccurate, or undeliverable addresses are marked as invalid.
Subscription preferences apply to your whole brand
A contact’s subscription preferences apply to your entire brand, not just specific subdomains or parts of your account.
If a contact unsubscribes from one of your emails, they’re opted out of all email communications from that brand.
If you need to keep subscription preferences separate, for example, you run both a restaurant and a festival, consider adding a second brand to your Hive account.
