Hey, Sugar!

These sugar cubes are from a digital stamp set from Doodle Pantry.  The set is called Tea-rrific and is so beautiful.  I went today more with the funny side.  I printed the sugar cubes three times.  I flipped one of the sets and cut out one cube from the third set.  I am not good at all with girly flourishing cards.  That is what this card is supposed to be.  I feel so much more comfortable with boy cards.  The little tea pot charm was the perfect addition.
I would like to submit this card into these challenges:
Try It On Tuesday - Feminine and Fancy
Crafty Cardmakers - Flourishes

Life is sweet

Today I have a special card to show you.  I made this card for one of my Aunts.  In February my Grandpa passed away.  He was 94.  He was so ready to go home but it was still so hard to let him go.  I know many of you know exactly what I am talking about.  One of my Aunts is a beautiful seamstress, she found a pattern to take men's shirts and make them into aprons.  So after things had calmed down after the funeral she brought up this idea and asked all of us gals who would want a apron out of Grandpa's shirts.  Well, we all jumped at the chance!  They brought his shirts out and we all cried again.  We could see him in all those shirts again.  He was in a nursing home at the time he passed away so his name is on the tag of every shirt, which just makes it more special.  We all picked out or shirt - oh, by the way they are all plaid, we would like as our aprons. Just yesterday I received a package and there it was my apron made out of Grandpa's shirt.  It is something that I will treasure forever.  So this card is going to the Aunt who made me a keepsake I will keep till I pass on.  I wanted a very special card to thank her for such a wonderful gift to me.  I thought the pie was perfect because Grandpa loved pie. =)
I would like to submit this card into these challenges:
City Crafter - What's Cooking
Mojo Monday - Sketch
Aud Sentiment - Bingo - die cut, 4 word sentiment, ribbon
The pie is from Doodle Pantry and is called Cherry Pie it is a free image.  The sentiment also comes from Doodle Pantry and is from a set called Kitchen Clutter.

Freedom

I have a newphew that is in the Navy.  He is going to be deployed again soon and his Mom is making him a deployment box.  She has asked several people to send a card with some encouraging words.  Then when he is gone he will be able to open a letter whenever he is feeling down.  I choose to make him a card using the Doodle Pantry digital set called USA Freedom.
On the inside of my card I have added the second part of the above sentiment.  I hope my card will brighten one of his long days.
I would like to submit this card into these challenges:
Cuttin' and Stampin' - Memorial Day
Created with Love - Lots of Layers
A Gem of a Challenge - Favorite Color Combo (I love red, so anything with red)

Moving hammer?

I had so much fun making this card.  The challenge of moving parts from "The Male Room" was the inspiration of this card.  The hammer and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry.  The set is new this month and is called "Classic Tools".  I think the sentiment is great.  I was thinking of all the different things it could be great for, a graduate, someone moving into a new home, completing a tradeschool class.  The ideas are so many.  I printed the hammer twice and cut out the second one.
Now below is a picture of the spring I made and hot glued between the two hammers.  I used the end of a tiny paintbrush to wrap the wire around.  Any kind of movement and the hammer bounces around.  It is just adorable - if you can say that about a man card. =)
I would like to submit this card into these challenges:
Card Mania - Clean and Simple
My Craft Spot - Congrats
Technostamper - Sketch
The Male Room - Moving parts

Thanks a bunch...

This card is going to one of my friends after I spent a couple days at her new home.  I had a great time and that deserved a pretty thank you card.  This card is made with an image from Bugaboo Stamps.  I printed the image twice, I cut out the flowers and they are popped up.  I don't use purple very often but this card uses the new purple Copic markers I got with this friend.  The die cut didn't fit because the die is a square and my image is a rectangle so I cut the die cut down the center and overlaped one of the loops.  Now it fits great.
I would like to submit this card into these challenges:
Crafting When We Can - Die Cut - Spellbinders Lacey Squares
Sentimental Sundays - Funky Flowers and Sentiment
The Ribbon Girls - Ribbon and purple
All Sorts - Purple passion
