Founded by Clinical Psychologist Yvonne Lee, Holding Space was created as a space for calm, clarity, and connection.
Yvonne’s approach is relational, compassionate, and grounded in science, integrating EMDR therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment- and somatic-informed approaches to help clients heal at the root.
She is especially passionate about supporting adults who feel stuck in old patterns — whether that’s anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, trauma, grief, or self-criticism — and helping them find a kinder, freer way of being.
Therapy at Holding Space isn’t about pushing through pain. It’s about creating a space where healing can unfold — steadily, gently, and at your nervous system’s natural pace.
We blend EMDR’s evidence-based effectiveness with the depth of attachment-informed and IFS therapy, helping you connect with the parts of yourself that most need compassion and understanding.
Whether your challenges come from a single traumatic event or patterns that have developed over years, our work focuses on healing at the root, not just managing symptoms. You don’t need to repeatedly recount your trauma — you remain in control, supported with structure, warmth, and clear guidance.
Our approach is designed for lasting change, helping you move beyond survival toward a life that feels calmer, more connected, and more whole.
No matter what brings you here — trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, or relational struggles — therapy with us combines science, compassion, and depth to help you feel grounded, connected, and truly alive.
This includes single-incident trauma such as accidents, medical events, birth- or pregnancy-related events or assaults.
Using EMDR therapy, we help the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel present or overwhelming. You won’t need to retell every detail — change happens through the body’s natural capacity to heal once safety and connection are restored.
This includes childhood or relational trauma, such as chronic neglect, emotional abuse, or growing up in unpredictable environments.
Many current struggles — difficulty trusting, people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, emotional shutdown — trace back to early attachment experiences.
Through an attachment-informed and IFS-integrated EMDR approach, we gently explore how your protective parts developed and help release the emotional pain they’ve been holding. This allows for deeper connection with yourself and others, and a stronger sense of inner safety.
Anxiety often signals that part of your nervous system is still bracing for danger.
EMDR helps rewire the body’s stress response, while mindfulness, grounding, and parts work build calm and confidence from within.
Over time, you’ll find it easier to relax, focus, and trust that you can handle life’s challenges.
When we’ve been “pushing through” for too long, the system eventually shuts down.
Our trauma-informed approach helps identify the underlying exhaustion, grief, or loss of purpose beneath the low mood. EMDR and IFS help you reconnect with vitality, self-compassion, and hope — at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.
Loss changes how we see the world and ourselves. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, a relationship ending, or major life transitions, we create space for processing the pain while reconnecting with meaning and continuity.
EMDR can help ease the emotional charge of loss, supporting gentle integration and healing.
